We need your help to make it make Food Float work. We are a not for profit Community Interest Company, working with and in the local community. We have a huge amount of support for what we do.
- We need volunteers to staff the stall on Saturday mornings (and sometimes on Fridays). There are two Saturday shifts: 8.30-11am and 11-2pm. Most volunteers commit to doing one shift a month, but you can do more or less. Please contact us to offer help. It’s huge fun and gives you a chance to meet local people.
- We can offer community volunteering experience as part of the Duke of Edinburgh award. You need to be over 15, good with customers and confident with handling cash (if 16 or over). We are happy to provide training and references in return. Get in touch.
- We also welcome help for behind the scenes tasks such as the website and communications, financial management and deliveries .

A volunteer’s viewpoint
Nicole Lau has been volunteering on Food Float after moving to Dorking. She says:
“I was very inspired and amazed by this community initiative as I think this is a great way to promote local foods and support local producers. Also the fact that it is run by volunteers! This shows good things don’t need to cost money but can be powered by people’s goodwill.”
